It was somewhat difficult to work with due to the stretchiness factor. Honestly, I only chose it because it was what I happened to have on hand. But I ended up being thrilled with the effect.
This gown, and the bonnet and stockings to go with it, where really the first things that I’ve ever made that left me wondering if someday my great-great-grandchild might be wearing it. Will there be some other mother, somewhere down my family line who will marvel at my own work? Marvel at it not because of it’s quality, because I at best still consider myself a hack when it comes to sewing, but marvel at the fact that it was made by her own grandmother/great-grandmother/ great-aunt’s hands? Marvel in the same way that I do when I come across a little doll blanket, crocheted by my Great-Grandmother 50 years ago. Will there be someone else who appreciates that connection to the past in the same way that I do? Who will think of me and dream of what our life was like, long after I am gone? Will they feel the love that was put into it? Will my own daughter be dressing her daughter in it someday. Oh, if so, I do hope that I am still around to at least see that.
This is just so lovely! I can imagine little baby girls through the generations wearing this beautiful gown.
That is just incredible!
What a gorgeous gown!
Beautiful!

Beautiful! I can’t wait to see a picture of the babe in the complete outfit. She’s lucky to have such a talented mama.
Oh it turned out beautifully!!! Best wishes for the blessing ceremony!
