A cozy little vest for Nico

Pattern: my own

Yarn: Valley Yarns Berkshire Bulky in ‘Stone Blue’

Size: 3-6 months

With several new baby boys to knit for this past winter, I decided to finally knit up a pattern that I had designed in my head years ago. I had it in mind for another little baby, who turned out to be a girl, and while I think this is a great little vest for a girl (I plan on making a slightly older version for Màiri this autumn), I got inspired to do something really girly and this vest never got made.

This one is for sweet baby Nico, who’s wool lovin’ mama was happy to report that it should fit well into the fall.

I know it looks really long and thin, but it has a ton of sideways stretch, which might be at least a bit more obvious if I had bothered to block it.

It looks much better on someone, honest. Clearly Teddy is more of a newborn size. My stubborn husband is holding firmly to the belief that my designing an infant sized pattern and wanting modeled pictures of it does not constitute grounds for having another baby right now. He can be so silly sometimes. Alas, Teddy remains my only option. But if you happen to be near me in say the produce aisle or something, it’s probably not wise to turn your back on your baby. I’m just sayin’.

I’m having some serious issues with my blog host at the moment.  My post from this morning got eaten.  Hopefully the issues will be resolved soon.

Stubborn husband?? Hence the nickname “Mule”. Got that when he was very young and it hasn’t changed since. And how did you get him to smile in the picture below? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

The vest is fantastic. And teddy is, I imagine a very cooperative model :)
If we were closer I’d let you use Erik, though it might be to tiny for him(hard to believe he’ll be 5 months this weekend).
