This week’s theme over at I ♥ Faces is “Pets”.  Since we don’t have any pets right now (so strange to say that out loud and know that it’s true!), I’m taking the “any animal” option that they are allowing with this contest.

I took lots of pictures of the animals at the Philadelphia Zoo when we visited back in April, and many of those pictures and animals were far more impressive, but this Galápagos tortoise was my favorite.  They are just so ancient looking (and with an average lifespan in the wild of 100-150 years, it’s no wonder!).  I think they are fascinating.
