I’ve been working on this wrap sweater pattern, off and on, for a couple of years now. This is actually the second one I’ve made, though it’s the first that I’ve shared. The yarn is the very lovely Queensland Collection Joey’s Baby Silk in ‘Baby White’. It’s a perfectly balanced blend of wool, bamboo and silk. The tie is a nude colored velvet ribbon. I actually really love this sweater, it’s so soft and delicate and rather romantic I think.
Two years ago for Christmas my sister offered to watch the kids so Steve and I could go out and have a real date. “Real date” consisted of dinner and a movie and uhm…two stops at my favorite yarn store (it’s not mean and torturous because I was wearing cute clothes at the time, see?). I spotted this yarn on the first trip, but we were nearly late to our movie, so we came back to buy it on the second, with this very project in mind. And then it sat on a shelf where I sometimes visited it and fingered it lovingly until, oh, like 6 weeks before our ceremony. Because you know, I like to take it easy on myself and give myself lots of stress free time to work on projects.
Eh, all’s well that ends well.
All the photos above are by the lovely and talented Dawn Joseph.
Sweet moments to make memories.;)

Melody, what is the name of the pattern for your wrap tie sweater? I love it!
It doesn’t have a name yet. The pattern currently consists of just the one size (mine) hand written in my notebook. I have so many patterns that I would love to share with the world, but the next steps in pattern writing are very time consuming and it seems to take me forever to get around to them, as for some odd reason, there always seems to be something more pressing!
Oh Melody!!!! I am so happy for you, all of these photographs of your special day are absolutely beautiful! You look gorgeous and Steve looks so handsome, and so much like the boys without his glasses I got quite a shock! You did an amazing job to make everything you did, what precious memories you will have of this magical day, and so will the children, especially with all the handmade keepsakes, which will become heirlooms no doubt. Im actually all teary for you this is just so lovely:) I never check blogs anymore, never seem to have the time, I am so glad I did today though, I have sat here for ages slowly scrolling through everything! I love love love the wrap sweater too, especially the sleeves, just gorgeous. So much love to you and yours sweet Melody xxxxx
