This past week has marketed the first time in two and a half years that we have had an actual bathroom door. And, my, does it feel like an incredible luxury!
This pretty little pine door came from the local building supply salvage shop and was installed by Steve (with Iain assisting), last weekend. And this little development is helping me along in dressing up the boys’ bedroom, as the curtain that previously covered this spot, it headed upstairs to grace the opening of a closet.
There is one more funny little thing about this picture….look closely at the wall. This was going to be the subject of a post I planned to title “When Winter Lasts Too Long”, but I never got around to it. Do you see it yet?? We put up the pine tongue and groove just after Christmas and the children immediately decorated it with snowflakes and cut outs of “our family” dressed in mittens and boots. And then spring came, and we decided to take them down, in favor of more seasonally appropriate decorations. Only it seems that winter had left it’s mark. And now that we are going in to fall again, I can say that it’s quite enduring. Oh, the symbolism.
Yeah for a bathroom door! Your place is looking great- and I can hardly see the faded bits, but we get them too- with all the wood we have in this house. I look forward to reading your boy’s room update when it comes.
