I don’t have much to show for myself, of late, in the sewing department. And here is my excuse. The weather can’t seem to make up it’s mind and consequently, neither can I. The thermometer has been ricocheting from record highs to record lows for a month now and each time there is a fluctuation, I quickly reassess what is most needed in that moment and attempt to sew accordingly. However, since priorities keep changing that means I never seem to finish anything. Oh, but I have started an awful lot.
On the plus side I should be close to finishing a great many things in the near future and Galen is getting a lot of time with his beloved iron. Steve made this little iron for him for Christmas. It seems to come out every time I sit down to sew. I think we have some of the tidiest play silks around!
I did make a pair of dress pants for Iain last month, fashioned out of an old pair of Steve’s dress pants. I never did get around to properly photographing them, but as I was typing this post, I thought of this picture. Which does include the pants, though in a completely unflattering way. They look a whole lot better when they haven’t been run up and down a hill about a gazillion times. But you are just going to have to take my word for that.
