Starry Night Crown

One last gift made for Iain for his birthday.

All of the boys went through a phase, not long ago, of intense castle play. The older two were quite perturbed with me for not allowing them the use of their special birthday crowns, which I reserve for birthdays alone.

I decided to make Iain a crown that he could use for everyday wear, if he so desired.

So I sorted through my various supply stashes, gather up some supplies and set to work. And this is the result.

I don’t know how my math ended up being off, but it’s rather large. He still wears it all the time. It’s perpetually rakishly askew, which somehow both perfectly suits and complements this boy of mine.

This mottled plant-dyed felt gorgeous. It’s a dream to work with, it’s so fabulous on it’s own that anything made with it is bound to be wonderful!

This is a wonderful crown- my 5 yo boy and almost-8 yo girl love castles and knights and crowns- did you make up this crown design?
They also have birthday crowns (knitted felted) and I let them use them to play with, but had been thinking I should reserve them for only on their birthdays.
