For the Love of Teddy Bears

I’ve never been big on dressing the kids in cutesy animal prints. It’s just not the type of look I tend to gravitate towards. Ah, but a certain little someone does so love his animal clothes (remember the ladybug fabric incident??). And in case you haven’t noticed, I like to encourage my kids in their own individual interests and forms of creative expression, and so animal clothes he shall have…

I made the pants for his birthday out of this teddy bear fabric that he picked out and the shirt and Teddy’s pants came a few weeks later.

For quite a while now, I’ve been hearing the strangest murmurs at night….they sound vaguely like a very little boy, attempting to talk in a growl-y voice and repeating over and over again “I need comfy sleeping pants says Teddy”. I’m pleased to report that with the advent of these pants, all such murmurs have ceased. And so I can only assume that the pants were a success.

The pants are New Conceptions Reversible Pants, with organic navy fleece on the other side (yes, from “the box”). I love this pattern; so, so quick and easy. I foresee myself making several pairs of these for him this autumn. And, as you can see, he is now officially big enough to fit in my favorite boy’s Kwik Sew shirt pattern.

I’m told that they are just right for horse rocking.

So cute! I just love the conversations that take place between little ones and their furry friends.
