1.Make something big for myself. I was going to say knit myself a sweater, but maybe I’ll be inspired to make a dress or something instead.
2. Hug each child, every day. Really take the time to look at them and see them for who they are.
3. Get out alone on dates with my love.
4. Have more date nights at home.
5. Devote some time to really learning more about crochet.
6. Spend less time on the computer (sorry folks).
7. Do less. A lot less. Choose those things that mean more.
8. Wear clothes that I love to wear, not just the hand-me-downs that people give me (which I do sometimes love, but not always).
9. Go to bed early on a regular basis.
10. Spend more time outdoors.
11. Get back into a regular yoga routine.
12. Learn how to smock.
13. Fix all of my jewelry, 4 kids have taken their toll! Possibly buy make a few pieces as well.
14. Go camping
15. Visit family
16. Work on improving my relationship with food.
17. Find something to do with Iain, just him and I.
18. Find something to do with Elijah, just him and I. (Galen and Màiri and I already have our own special time, and Iain, Elijah and I all together have things, but I want more one on one time)
19. hang more photos
20. make or buy a bunch of sun dresses to wear all summer long
21. spend more time with my friends
22. grow a small but delightful garden
23. laugh more
24. raise my voice less
25. take more pictures of Steve and I
26. read a wonderful book
27. go to the theater
28. plant a rose bush
29. take the time to be grateful everyday
a very good list indeed. I’m thinking its a birthday for you, then? Happy day! +Chelsea
I cannot even believe how much your list resembles the one I keep going in my mind!
yeah, that sounds like the one in my head too, must be a mama thing:) Happy Birthday, and your 30s will be much better. Im 36, and my 30s have been way better. Go easy on yourself. Easier said than done, we are all hard on ourselves:). But truly, give yourself room to make a few mistakes. Theres still quite alot of good that you are doing. Look at your kids, and how wonderful they are. Theres a God who chose you to be these kids mama, and your husbands wife, despite your shortcomings. They need you, and you are in the right place.
I have 4 kids, 2 step, and your idea of alone time with each one is a great one. They will not forget the times you spent with just them:)
Happy Birthday, be blessed,
Christina
thats 6 total. 4 are my flesh and blood, 2 are step. And if you want to get down to it, I lost a baby girl 4 years ago when i was 4 months pregnant. But one on one time is very hard to come by, but most valuable.:)

Thank you everyone! It was a lovely day.
Christina-I had/have nothing at all against my twenties. We’ve had many difficult times over the last 9 years, but it had nothing to do with my age and everything to do with external circumstances. I plan on enjoying the last little bit I have left, and all that comes after. Perhaps my intentions with the list was unclear, but it was just something to have for myself as a reminder of what’s important to me. Something that I can look at when I need some inspiration. I honestly don’t see how any of this is being hard on myself. As far as I’m concerned, it’s more a matter of honoring myself in an attempt to live a genuine and thoughtful life. Falling short of ideals is always expected, that’s just the way life goes.

Happy birthday, a little bit late!
