I’ve been knitting again, with a vengeance. Elijah is to be the first recipient of a mama-made, mama-designed birthday sweater. I’m getting quite the late start on it, not that it seems like it’s going to matter in the least. I went from fooling with a color work swatch to finishing the entire body and part of the sleeve in under a week. His birthday is just over a month off, I think I’ll be just fine! I don’t know how it happened really and I keep looking at it and wondering when I managed to do all of that. I’m very, very tired and I suspect the two are related.
In high school I had to do a thesis report for my AP psychology course. The gist of my topic was how in highly creative people inspiration mirrors, or at least borders on, mania. In so far as how the brain functions the two can be nearly indistinguishable. I don’t think that at the time I saw the irony or how close to home it hit. Not even when I stopped sleeping to finish the report, not because it was due soon, but just because it was going so very well, and oh my gosh, I-can’t-stop-thinking-of-things-to-add! This was of course back in the good old days when jolt and a tube of cookie dough were are reasonable replacement for sleep (I’m pretty sure that the combination of those two things would kill me now).
So yes, I seem to have a case of the knitting crazies. What else is new?
Baseball inspired?
How did you guess?
Those white parts are either balls or plates…right? Can’t wait to see this one! You are going to have some other little boys clamouring for one of their own I bet!
Plates! There is a whole large section of fair isle composed of nothing but interlocking plates.
They might just get their wish, so that I can try out different sizes!
