Hustle and bustle…

Oh, so tired! I always feel like there are so many things to do this time of year! Probably because there are…. I’m deep into my late November holiday cram. I’m working hard to finish all of the things that I would like to get done. I have to try to remember to pace myself. That there will be other years and one less present, one less craft project, one less special treat won’t be the end of the world. Though sometimes it does feel that way! I’m going to be very busy from now until after Iain’s birthday on January 5th. I thought I would post about my progress with various projects as a little way to keep track of the things that I’m doing (and what’s still left to be done!).

For the last week or so I’ve been knitting up a storm. My wrists and my hands actually ache from it. That’s really saying something considering I knit on a very regular basis to begin with. Last night I ordered the last couple of little doll making supplies I needed. It will be nice to break up the knitting with some sewing. Especially hand sewing. I love stuffing doll bodies and sculpting them into form and forming their heads while watching them come to life in my hands. It’s such a rewarding craft.

The one thing that I know I’m going to have trouble getting to this year is anything that requires machine sewing. In our tiny house the sound is just too disturbing to little sleepy heads. I actually think that the bigger boys will be okay with it once they are in a deep sleep. Perhaps I can sew with the little guy on my back? I’ve done it in the past, but his arms are getting long enough now that he can sometimes get into trouble!
