Iain’s crown

Here are some close ups of the crown that I made for Iain. Try to ignore the sawdust, it had been played with for over a month before I remembered to take a picture of it.

I started off by knitting and felting the LTK’s ‘King of the wildthings’ pattern in blue (o-wool organic merino in “sky”- it’s a really pretty color) with a white band (treslike color-grown organic merino). Once it was felted I came back and started working in the scenery with a combination of needle felting and embroidery. Sadly, to this day I still haven’t finished it! I ran out of time before his birthday and had to leave it as it was and I just haven’t managed to get back to it yet. You can see where some of the trees aren’t really attached well. Everything was supposed to get a coating of “snow”. There were going to be more embroidered trees and all of the animals features still need to be filled in.
