The herringbone sweater is coming along. I’m 13 1/2 inches in on the back. Another 1/2″ and I can start working the actual herringbone pattern! I’m really curious to see how the color-way will play out with the pattern, it’s been interesting so far.

It looks really big, but I guess that means he’ll be able to wear it for a long time.

My hands are so sore. It just happened to work out that my stitch gage was just right for my least favorite needles. They are really long metal straights. I can’t work nearly as fast with them and my fingers and wrists get fatigued from the weight of the sweater hanging down. I’ve started using light-weight bamboo or wood circulars for all of my straight knitting. I just find it to be so much easier. But since I already own a set of needles in this size it would be wasteful to go out and buy another set, so I just have to suck it up and be achy for a while!

I got half-way through the other sole for Rosa’s slippers this morning. I had planned to work on it tonight, but…well…. I lost it. I really have no clue where it could have gotten to.

We had a friend unexpectedly stop by. She ended up staying to dinner. I had the boys helping me to clear off the table. We have this tiny little table that gets covered and cleared about 100 times a day. I was talking while we worked, and I guess not paying much attention, because it wasn’t until 4 hours later that I realized it was gone and I hadn’t the foggiest idea as to where. One of the boys must have dealt with it. I’ll have to ask them in the morning.

I am fighting the urge to start casting on again. They are doing a “knit along” on one of the boards I like to visit. I’ve never done one and I think it would be kind of fun. The little cabled bag they are knitting is awfully cute…and I could really use some more practice cabling….hmm….
