May Day

This years May Day festival dawned cold and somewhat bleak. My dress was augmented with a pair of pants underneath, a shirt over top and a shawl all around. Then of course there was the crown made of the forsythia my boys brought me.

Elijah was intent on wearing his little outfit, so he wore it over an entire set of warm clothes (the effect was somewhat comical!).

Our homeschoolers choral performance went off without a hitch. We drew a large crowd and kicked off the festivities just before the may pole procession. The children were just darling! They really did so well.

After are performance there was lots of singing of may carols, dancing around the maypole, socializing and watching many performances by the various troops of Morris dancers. The sun came out and the day turned warm and beautiful.

After the festivities we attended a double birthday, pot-luck, party for two of the boys in our group. Lots of good food and fun for all.
