Iain’s birthday knit for this year; an Antler Hat. The yarn is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Tweed. I loved working with this yarn. It was so soft and beautiful, so much more so then I expected it to be. I’m planning all kinds of projects around it now. The color is North Pole Heather.
i love your hat! i recently ordered a bunch of wool of the andes after reading that you like it. i trust your yarn taste and it is all relatively new for me so thank you.
If you are used to luxury yarn, it might be a bit of a disappointment. But for the price I think it’s a great value. It’s softer then most economy yarns (especially the tweed). The color selection is fabulous, with the exception of the fact that they do not have a light or medium grey-blue that suits me It comes in a variety of weights. And, this is a big one in the household, it holds up really, really well; doesn’t shrink easily or pill much and it can take a lot of abuse and still look good. I hope you like it, but at least if you don’t, it won’t have been a terribly big investment!
By the way, it’s really lovely to hear from you!
The hat came out lovely, and that boy wearing it is awfully handsome.
So nice to hear your description of the wool of the andes tweed. I’ve eyed it before and wondered how it is.
Beautiful hat Melody! (And beautiful boy in it, of course!) I love knit picks yarn, but have not knit with the tweed- I’ll have to try it. But they are so affordable and their shipping to Canada is good. Now I’m thinking of projects too- maybe something for baby girl in papaya or claret…. xoxo
