My Favorite Shawl…

Alright, so it’s my only shawl….

This is an old project, completed long before I had a blog. It was one of my first knitting projects and the very first thing that I knitted for myself (and I still haven’t gotten around to blocking it). Being the work of a novice knitter, I’m sure that it is flawed in many ways. Thankfully, the simple lace pattern is fairly forgiving.

Since the change in the weather, I’ve found myself pulling it out more and more frequently, until it finally came to occupy a permanent place on the back of my chair. Ready to be grabbed if an evening chill creeps in or to wrap about chilly little toes that crept out of been a bit too early….

The pattern is Charlotte’s Easy Lace Shawl by Fiber Trends. I made it out of three different shades of a local yarn in a random stripe pattern. The yarn is a wool and mohair blend, dyed with vegetable dyes.

Beautiful! If that is a novice’s work then maybe I should get brave enough to try something more challenging than a stockinette stitched scarf. Thankyou for sharing…and BTW, the house is looking very ‘housey’…go, go, go!

    Thank you!

This pattern is a good place to start, for something a little more interesting. It looks far more complicated that it actually is. So long as you manage to get it looking hole-y, you’re good! lol
