Autumn winds are sighing,
Stealing through the forest brown,
As they softly pass the tree trunks
Little leaves come falling down.
But a stronger gale is blowing
And then the leaves themselves
Rise and dance about the forest
Just like little elves.
Faster, faster see them whirling
Till the gale has passed.
One by one the tired leaflets
Sink to rest at last.

We had a very low-key celebration last night, involving lots of acorn squash soup. As my bitty boy as finally just about concoured his case of the sniffles, the boys and I are headed out into the woods today.
I have a very exciting (and fun!) plan for this week of homeschooling. Everything is centered around celebrating both Michaelmas and the Equinox. Iain will be starting his first saints block, there will be lots of crafting and lots and lots of time outside.
Happy, happy Autumn! I hope you will later share some of these delightful homeschooling equinox/Micahelmas surprises that you’ve hinted at
I am moved by the way you describe your evolving home…it looked like a cathedral in some of those photos. While I ache for you and your feelings of loss in the midst of conquering illness and reshaping your life, I am so grateful that you are in a place where you can share these bits of your story so candidly with us readers…you are an inspiration to me. Your writings help me keep a mindful outlook on my own life and that in turn effects my family and benefits all those in my little circle of community. Never underestimate the good work you do in your life! It has a ripple effect for sure
