We did manage a wee bit of crafting in preparation for Mr. Elijah Rain’s birthday.
This hat, for his doll Rain, came courtesy of big brother Iain. It was his first time knitting in the round and I think it turned out fabulous. He made the entire thing in one sitting. He really liked knitting in the round, and is already planning several new projects.
And the birthday garland, was a small contribution from me. The birthday boy sorted through my stash and picked his favorites. And I cut and stitched them up.
Melody-WHERE did you get the fabric with the bird and nest and the bunnies?? It is the sweetest thing evah.
Hark! Who goes there??
I don’t know if it’s still being produced, but it’s Michael Miller’s “Woodland Critters”. I got around 2.5 yards of it off of the remnant rack at my local fabric store, last summer (lucky me!). It plays heavily in Elijah’s quilt too
Darling hat!
I need to make a birthday garland. Birthday coming up, no sewing machine at the moment…hmmm…I can come up with something…
I really love the birthday garland. I don’t have enough of a stash yet to produce one, but soon.
Oh dear, I forgot to comment on Iain’s amazing knitted hat. Fantastic job!
that garland is so cute! i want to make one for dd..how exactly is it done?
