A Little Homemade

We did manage a wee bit of crafting in preparation for Mr. Elijah Rain’s birthday.

This hat, for his doll Rain, came courtesy of big brother Iain. It was his first time knitting in the round and I think it turned out fabulous. He made the entire thing in one sitting. He really liked knitting in the round, and is already planning several new projects.

And the birthday garland, was a small contribution from me. The birthday boy sorted through my stash and picked his favorites. And I cut and stitched them up.

It appears rather rumbled here, because after serving as decor for his party, it spent a week or so balled up on a chair, before I finally got annoyed with it’s presence and asked Steve to help me string it across the playroom!

    Hark! Who goes there?? :)

I don’t know if it’s still being produced, but it’s Michael Miller’s “Woodland Critters”. I got around 2.5 yards of it off of the remnant rack at my local fabric store, last summer (lucky me!). It plays heavily in Elijah’s quilt too :)

    Darling hat!

I need to make a birthday garland. Birthday coming up, no sewing machine at the moment…hmmm…I can come up with something…

I really love the birthday garland. I don’t have enough of a stash yet to produce one, but soon.
    :-)
