A knitting wrap, of course!
This is my prototype for a needle wrap that holds straights, double points and circulars, all at the same time.
These were birthday presents for my sisters and I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out. Unfortunately, the photos were hastily taken, as the sun was setting, when it occurred to me that the wraps would be returning to Pennsylvania with my sisters that evening.
We actually had a lot of fun with this project, I made them while my sisters were staying with me, so that I could customize them to the type of needles they each own. I had a basic design in mind in advance, as well as a general idea of which fabrics I thought they would like. I was actually dead on with my fabric selection. I showed them what I had in mind, then gave them free rein to sort through my stash and pick whatever they liked. They both were so pleased with my original choices that they didn’t even bother to hit the stash.
The buttons were courtesy of my Mother-in-law, who gave me her very own tin of buttons when we visited. I was so excited… which she found pretty ridiculous. Ah well. My sisters, however, were pretty excited too! After pouring through all of my buttons, Tina went home with a sweet collection of vintage embossed star buttons for a sweater and hat set she’s working on and Rachel had a whole little sack of button oddities that amused her for one reason or another! I must admit, I had never seen a button with three holes before either…
I want to make these for my knit knight ladies! thanks!
oh! I was so excited about the idea I forget to tell you how beautiful yours are!
