Eugene and Leopold

More hasty pictures and more presents for my sisters…

Fiber Trend Felted Llamas….otherwise known as, what was supposed to be last year’s present.
They will forever be known as the felted project that refused to dry. I did the felting on them before we left for a long weekend visit to PA. My parents and sisters followed us back home, and stayed for another 5 days, during which time, they STILL weren’t dry! Which meant I was stuffing and embroidering, quite literally AS they were walking out the door. These first two pictures are of them sitting around drying…(in theory)…

And one shadowy, flashy shot of the actual finished project.

The yarn for Tina’s llama (the light colored one whom she named Leopold) was a combination of Full Belly Farm’s cream wool and a mohair from Dancing Rain Dolls. Rachel’s llama (that would be Eugene, the darker llama, in case you couldn’t guess) was made of more mohair from Dancing Rain and a another organic yarn that I had dyed, several years ago, using black walnut hulls.

Between these, the knitting needle wraps and a couple of jars of blueberry jam, I think that I’m finally all caught up with the sister birthday presents. Well, until next year anyway…

And for those who are keeping score that is two, yes, count them, two, less projects in my pile.
